Clamping & Indexing 

 

The Nann range of clamping and indexing units covers a wide range of applications
from simple pneumatic clamping units through to NC indexing units and multiple
indexing systems.

 

NPZ Pneumatic Clamping Units
Three sizes are offered, each of which is available in two collet sizes to suit particular requirements.
They are particularly suited to short work pieces but can also be fitted with an adapter to allow use
of larger stepped collets. In each application a moving pressure sleeve clamps the stationary collet allowing for very close tolerance length work regardless of variations in diameter on the workpiece.
Air is used to open the collet and thus safe working is assured should air pressure be lost.

PS Pneumatic Clamping Units
These pneumatic clamping units can be mounted either horizontally or vertically to suit application. Either drawback with the possible modification for stepped collets or deadlength collets can be specified. The drawback collets are particularly suitable for shorter workpieces while the deadlength collets are more chiefly suited for clamping longer workpieces. Once again a moving pressure sleeve clamps the stationary collet and air is used to open the collet so safe working is assured in the event of air failure. Remote valve options can also be used to open the collet in place of the valve lever.

HPZ Pneumatic Clamping Units
These compact clamping units have a hardened and ground body with the option of mounting either horizontally or vertically. They are particularly suited for for mounting in muliples or on pallets. They offer high clamping power and versions with drawback or deadlength collets are available. The drawback collet type are particularly suited to short length work pieces and can also be fitted with an extension to accomodate stepped collets.

HZ Clamping Units
These units can be supplied in either pneumatic or hydraulic execution and each model is available with either drawback or deadlength type collets. External mandrels for internal clamping are also available. These compact units have hardened and ground bodies capable of being mounted either
horizontally or vertically and are especially useful where close clamping of multiple units is required. Pressure up to 80 bar is possible with the pressure medium being supplied either through the threaded connector or through the mounting plate.

NPZT Pneumatic Clamping Units with Mechanical Indexing
These units offer similar clamping properties to the NPZ type clamping units but have the additional feature of a manual indexing faxility. They may be mounted either horizontally or vertically and offer the same drawback or deadlength collet options as the NPZ type units. Indexing is done by the lever acuated indexing mechanism with
regular indexing or irregular indexing by use of a special indexing plate to suit particular requirements.

HPZ Pneumatic Clamping Units
These units are particularly suited for use on machines whose indexing is cam controlled. Because the unit operates without rubber seals, the indexing cylinder is open only long enough to complete the indexing cycle to minimise the amount of air used.

HT Hydraulic Indexing Units
The HT hydraulic indexing units offer high precision through the crown gear indexing mechanism. A high number of indexes are possible and radial and axial clamps ensure utmost stability for machining operations. These compact units have hardened and ground bodies and are well suited for multiple mounting, particularly as they have a very low centre height. The clamping cylinder features a single action for drawback ollets or a double action for deadlength type collets, expanding mandrels and special jaw chucks. They may be contolled via a programmable control or relay plate.
NT Numerical Indexing Units
Two sizes of NT Numerical indexing units are available for accurate indexing, swivelling and spiral milling, each available with 1, 2, 3 or 4 indexing heads with fully synconised spindle movement. They can be equipped with either stepping motors or with DC motor and measuring device or equipped with motors of the customers choice. The clamping cylinder can be either hydraulic or pneumatic and features single action for drawback collets or a double action for use with deadlength collets, expanding mandrels or special jaw chucks. They have a reference point facility and are offered with either a low or
high centre height to suit particular applications. Special housings to accomodate particular centre distance requirements are also available. Index units with tiltable
spindles are also available by request.
